Common questions - insurance

The changes apply to Bankwest World and Bankwest Platinum credit cards with complimentary travel insurance, excluding the Bankwest Platinum Zero Mastercard.

If you have purchased an upgraded benefit, you’ll remain covered for your trip. This includes travel that takes place on or after 1 October 2026. To access your policy please contact Cover-More on 1300 468 340.

Cover is based on your departure date. If you left Australia before 1 October 2026, regardless of when the claimable event occurs, you remain covered under the existing policy with Cover-More, provided you meet the eligibility criteria. Contact Cover-More if you need help with a claim.

The cover is based on the original ticketed date. If your departure ticket is scheduled before 1 October 2026, cover will apply even if your flight is delayed. If your flight home is delayed, extending your journey beyond the eligible travel period, the cover will extend automatically. The delay must be due to reasons beyond your control or a claimable event as outlined in the PDS.

From 1 October 2026 you will no longer have access to these benefits.

If you bought something before this date, your purchase will be covered regardless of when the claimable event occurs.

Any flight with a ticket departure date on or after 1 October 2026 will no longer be covered by interstate flight inconvenience.
