How do I set up online banking?

Want to save yourself a trip to a branch? Bankwest Online Banking is a secure way to do lots of everyday banking tasks without having to go to a branch in person.

How to get started

Here’s how you can set up online banking from your computer.

Go to the log in screen of Bankwest Online Banking – select ‘Log in’, then ‘Personal Online Banking’ from the top right-hand corner of the Bankwest website.

You’ll need to enter:

Your Personal Access Number (PAN)

It can be found on your account statements. It can also be found in the letter or email we sent you after you first opened your account.

A password

Don’t worry if you don’t know your password – it’s simple to reset it. Underneath the password field on the log in screen, select ‘Reset your password online’. You’ll need your:

  • Personal Access Number (PAN)
  • Debit or credit card number, and the card PIN
  • Mobile phone that’s registered for SMS code (so we can confirm it’s really you)

Secret questions – if you’re opening online banking for the first time

When you set up online banking for the first time, you’ll be prompted to upgrade your security, which includes both your secret questions and SMS code.

Once you’ve logged in to online banking

You should automatically see your existing bank, savings and credit card accounts. You’ll be able to do things like:

  • View your account balances and transaction history
  • Make a payment to someone, or transfer funds between accounts
  • Pay a bill using BPAY®
  • Update your personal details, set your payment limits, and reset your password and secret questions
  • Message our specialists 24/7.
