Frequently asked questions

That’s one of the benefits of having a digital card — you don’t need to activate it. Log in to the Bankwest App the business day after your credit card is approved and tap on the ‘Cards’ tab to view your card details.

They’re a little different. A digital card is a read-only view in the Bankwest App, of your card number, expiry and CVC to help you make payments online. Your digital wallet (like Apple Pay, Google Pay™ or Samsung Pay) sits outside the Bankwest App and allows you to make payments from any cards you've linked using your phone or wearable device.

You can use your digital card details to set up regular payments and to shop online.

There’s no extra cost.

If you see a Mastercard logo on your card, you can use a digital version of your card.

Digital cards aren’t available for Bankwest EFTPOS cards.

No, you'll always be sent a physical card along with your digital card.

If you've reported your card lost, stolen or damaged in the Bankwest App, both your physical and digital cards will be cancelled and we'll arrange a replacement card. The physical card will be sent to you in the mail and you'll be able to activate and use your new digital card the following business day. If the old card was linked to a digital wallet, the new one will be added to that wallet automatically.
