What happens if I lose my card while travelling?

If you lose your Mastercard® while overseas, you can call Mastercard International by using the international dialling code from the country you’re in, plus +1 636 722 7111. Mastercard will work with us to ensure you have a replacement card or cash for your trip.

What is the Bankwest SWIFT code?

The Bankwest SWIFT code is BKWAAU6P. A SWIFT code is an international bank code that identifies particular banks worldwide and is used to transfer money between banks from different countries. It’s sometimes known as a Bank Identifier Code (BIC).

I can't receive my SMS code because I'm overseas. What do I do?

If you have roaming enabled, then you should still be able to receive SMS codes. If you don’t have it enabled or you’ve left your phone at home, you can give us a call on +61 8 9449 2840.

Don’t forget, you’ll only need SMS code for certain transactions.

Can I use my card overseas?

If your debit and credit cards have the Mastercard® logo they can be used in over 43 million locations worldwide (wherever you see the logo). If they haven’t, they’re for use in Australia only.

Make sure you’re prepared for international fees. Depending on the type of account, you may incur a $5 overseas ATM withdrawal fee and a foreign transaction fee of 2.95% of the transaction amount for each transaction outside of Australia. Are there any countries I’m unable to access online banking from?

You won’t be able to access online banking or use your card in some countries, due to international sanctions. Learn more.

Foreign transactions are transactions occurring outside of Australia whether in foreign currency or Australian dollars including if you are in Australia (for example, online) where the merchant or the financial institution or entity processing the transaction is located overseas. No foreign transaction fees apply for Platinum customers. Other fees and charges may apply, including when using overseas ATMs.
