In the app
If you're already a Bankwest customer (additional eligibility criteria applies), you may be able to open a joint account in the app by choosing the account you'd like and selecting the 'two of us' option. Keep in mind this is only available for the following accounts:
- Easy Transaction Accounts
- Retirement Advantage Accounts
- Hero Savers
- Offset Accounts.
Over the phone
If you have an existing joint account with us, you can apply for another joint account over the phone (additional eligibility criteria applies) – call us on 13 17 19.
How do joint accounts work?
With a joint transaction or savings account, both people will have full access to the account and the money in it.
When you set it up, you can determine whether you want just one or both parties to authorise things like transfers, withdrawals and closing the account.
