Bankwest has confirmed it has transferred naming rights of Western Sydney Stadium to the Commonwealth Bank (CBA) with a strong sense of pride in being the venue’s founding partner.
Bankwest Executive General Manager Sinead Taylor said the stadium had been invaluable in providing economic opportunities to the area and it would remain an important focal point for the community in the future.
“This world class sporting and entertainment venue quickly became part of the fabric of Western Sydney in its first two years, and more recently it has provided invaluable support, including as a COVID testing clinic,” she said.
“Western Sydney has been one of the fastest growing regions in Australia and it will undoubtedly bounce back; we’re proud of how the stadium has created economic opportunities for its diverse and resilient communities.
“The partnership has supported our aspirations of being there for more customers when they need us, and this foundation has allowed us, as a Group, to review how best to leverage Western Sydney Stadium.
“CBA is aiming to be the leading business bank in Australia and, as the country progresses towards vaccination targets and re-opening the economy, Western Sydney Stadium will best compliment CBA’s strong commitment to the region.”
Mrs. Taylor said Bankwest was committed to continuing its support of new and existing customers in NSW and across Australia through its digital, branch, and broker offering, particularly during the current challenging period.
“This is an incredibly difficult time for those in NSW, and we’re committed to being there for customers when they need us”.
