Bankwest activates assistance package for cyclone-impacted region in the Pilbara

24 March 2019

Bankwest has activated its emergency assistance package for customers and businesses impacted by Tropical Cyclone Veronica in the Pilbara region of northern Western Australia.

Special, temporary arrangements are available to customers and Bankwest’s Customer Assist Team is ready to assist them promptly with their financial concerns and enquiries.

Bankwest has implemented a Temporary Response Solutions package which, depending on customers’ circumstances, may include:

  • Providing tailored solutions for Bankwest home loan customers, which could include changing repayment arrangements.
  • Restructuring loans for existing business customers, without incurring the usual bank establishment fees.
  • Reviewing credit card instalments for customers of good standing and considering emergency credit limit increases.
  • Waiving pre-payment penalties for affected customers wishing to access term deposits.

Bankwest understands that each customer will have different needs and encourages impacted customers to discuss their individual circumstances with the Customer Assist Team by phoning 1300 769 173 or contacting their business relationship manager/business support line as appropriate.
