Bankwest has unveiled a new Home Buying Hub at Bankwest Place in the Perth CBD, marking the latest step in its strategic refocus on being a simple, easy bank for the Australian homeowner of today and tomorrow.
The Hub will open on 31 March 2023 and will be staffed by experienced colleagues equipped with skills and tools to offer WA homebuyers the support and guidance needed for all stages of the homebuying journey.
Bankwest General Manager Retail Strategy Craig Moffat said: “Customer needs and expectations are changing, and we’re making clear choices to invest in areas where customers tell us they prefer to engage with Bankwest.
“Bankwest is evolving into a future-fit business, powered by brilliant people with the skills and career pathways of tomorrow needed to deliver customers the simple and secure experiences they expect today.
“Our new Home Buying Hub is one of the latest examples of how we’re transforming our products and services to realise our vision to be a simple, easy bank for the Australian homeowner of today and tomorrow.
“Customers are increasingly choosing digital options for their everyday banking needs, but they continue to value face-to-face support for more complex conversations, especially when on the homebuying journey.
“Our new Home Buying Hub is an innovative model we might look to explore at more locations, so we can offer increased access to expertise, information, and support for the Australian homeowners of today and tomorrow.”
The Home Buying Hub provides space for customers to conduct their own research uninterrupted, with offices for private discussions with Bankwest homebuying specialists, and areas for information seminars.
The Hub will be a tellerless location, reflecting the increasing shift of customers to digital options that enable them to do their banking in their own time, and enabling colleagues to focus on homebuying conversations and support.
The location will be equipped with ATMs in an after-hours lobby and fitted with self-serve digital banking terminals.
Bankwest customers can continue to use the nearby Bankwest branch on 220 St Georges Terrace and Bank@Post services at more than 3500 participating Australia Post locations for many of their everyday banking needs.
Bankwest General Manager Home Buying Peter Bouhlas said: “The current property market, combined with cost-of-living pressures, is presenting challenges for current and aspiring homeowners.
“However, we know people continue to strive for the Great Australian Dream of homeownership, and the Home Buying Hub is a critical support initiative through this period, and as economic conditions improve in the future.
“Some of our most experienced homebuying colleagues will be assigned to the Home Buying Hub, helping to simplify the homebuying journey and providing education, information, and understanding to customers.”
