Bankwest Stadium to be part of the beating heart of Western Sydney

5 December 2018

Bankwest has today agreed in principle to a multi-year partnership with the New South Wales Government for the naming-rights of Western Sydney’s newest purpose-built stadium.

The new venue – to be called Bankwest Stadium when the partnership starts - will be positioned in the heart of the fastest-growing region in NSW, reflecting Bankwest’s commitment to grow nationally by meeting changing customer needs.

Bankwest Managing Director Rowan Munchenberg made the announcement alongside NSW Minister for Western Sydney, Sport and WestConnex Hon Stuart Ayres MP.

Mr Munchenberg said: “Bankwest is thrilled to support this critical piece of community infrastructure in the vibrant, diverse and growing corridor of Western Sydney.

“The Bankwest Stadium partnership will send a clear message to the people of Western Sydney and, more broadly NSW, that we’ll continue to invest in products and services that meet their needs.

“Our vision is to deliver amazing customer experiences that matter, which is strongly aligned to the vision of this stadium ‘to empower world-class fan experiences’.

“Half of our customers live on the east coast and, when visiting this fantastic new stadium, they’ll enjoy some tangible benefits that we’ll unveil nearer to its opening.”

Managing Director of stadium operator VenuesLive Daryl Kerry said: “Bankwest has been a great supporter of Australian sport and especially grassroots sport.

“The name Bankwest Stadium has a nice synergy with Western Sydney, one of the fastest growing regions in the nation and where Bankwest is growing rapidly.

“Bankwest Stadium is going to be a venue for everyone in NSW to enjoy, bringing fans closer to the action than ever before and delivering a fantastic event experience.

“From 2019 there is going to be a diverse range of events and activities that will engage communities across NSW and drive visitation to Sydney.”
