The inaugural Bankwest Cash Report is the latest research to be released in the Bankwest Financial Indicator Series.
The report has debunked the common myth that Australia is getting closer to a cashless society. It found Australians have a whopping $2092 in cash (on average) stashed in their pockets or floating around their homes and cars.
The Bankwest Cash Report uses data from the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Australian payments Clearing Association, and is the latest in Bankwest's Financial and Social Indicator Series.
