Apply for a business account

If you have any questions about your application, please contact us.

During your application we will ask you questions about your business and the people involved in your business. Before we open your account we may also ask for particular documents and ask that you and any account signatories provide personal identification.

Why we need these details

To open and operate any Bankwest business account you and your business are required to be identified under the provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006. This means you must provide certain personal and business information together with supporting documentation in order for us to verify this information. This applies to all individuals associated with an application, including signatories, Beneficial Owners by virtue of ownership or control (Key Decision Makers), Office Holders and Guarantors. Some non-signing related parties may also be required to be identified.

Personal identification

We’ll need to verify the identity of all the people connected with your application, including all signatories, Beneficial Owners by virtue of ownership or control (Key Decision Makers), Office Holders and Guarantors (where relevant). Anyone who is not already a Bankwest customer should pop into their nearest Bankwest store or visit an Australia Post Bank@Post Outlet. To see what documents you can use, check out our simple guidelines.
