Bankwest Halo

We've got some handy info to remind you how to use and manage your payment ring. 1

Benefits

It’s secure

It's just as secure as your card – and backed by Mastercard® 24/7 fraud protection.

Less to carry

You can leave your cards at home.

No charging

There's no need to charge it or link it to an app.

It works just like your cards

On 28 September 2021, we're saying goodbye to Bankwest Halo – this means it won't be available to buy from this date. Don’t worry, if you already have a Bankwest Halo ring, you can continue to use it until it expires. From 1 December 2021, we won't be reissuing or replacing any existing rings. 1

  • The ring uses contactless technology – instead of tapping your card, you make a fist and hold it on the terminal to pay
  • It's linked to one account and can't be transferred to another
  • You can lock it or unlock it in the Bankwest App, so you're covered if you ever lose it.

Does it expire?

If it's linked to a bank account, it’ll expire in 3 years. If it's linked to a credit card, it’ll expire when the card expires.

Frequently asked questions

Info at your fingertips

1

What if it falls off my finger or gets damaged?

If you misplace your ring, you can put a temporary lock on it in the Bankwest App or online banking. If you're sure it's lost, call us on 13 17 19.

If you have any issues with your ring, head to your nearest branch or get in touch.

2

Can I change the linked account?

Your ring will be made specifically for the account you choose. If you want to link a ring to another account, you'll need to order a separate ring.

3

Where can I use the ring?

You can use it wherever contactless payments are accepted – including overseas.

4

What if I need to refund a purchase made with the ring?

Refunds work the same way as usual – you'll just hold your fist over the terminal, rather than your card.
