Sending money overseas

Great news! International Transfers are now even easier with online banking.

Save on fees and a trip to the store by sending Australian or foreign currencies overseas in just a few clicks.

Alternatively, please visit your closest Bankwest store where one of our friendly colleagues will be happy to assist you.

If you’re currently overseas or in a remote location…
Download the International Money Transfer Form, then print, sign and fax it to +61 1300 394 844^

Where an application for an International Transfer/RTGS payment is submitted via Fax or Email directly to Bankwest, we will conduct additional security identification checks, using details already held by Bankwest. This process may take up to 3 business days to action your payment.

To send an International Money Transfer you will need:

  • the Bank Code and/or the SWIFT/BIC code, name and address of the overseas bank you are transferring to
  • the recipient’s name, address and account number (this is the person receiving the funds)
  • the amount and currency you wish to send

If you are sending money to certain countries, you may also need an International Bank Account Number (IBAN). Your beneficiary will need to provide you with their bank's IBAN if applicable.

International Money Payments Fees and Charges

Sending funds overseas in Australian or foreign currency via a Bankwest store $35

* We may use an intermediary bank to complete your payment. Other bank charges and fees are unknown to us and therefore not accounted for in the fees quoted above. This could mean the recipient may receive a lesser amount in their account than what you had originally sent. If you request to recall the payment for any reason, the other bank may still debit an unknown amount for incurred costs.
