Frequently asked questions

If you have a personal account:

You must be the owner or joint owner and meet the eligibility rules. All personal accounts are eligible except for:

  • Term deposit accounts
  • BWA Cash Management Trust accounts
  • Accounts held in trust.

eStatements aren't accessible by additional cardholders of credit card accounts, account signatories (except signatories for Children's Savings Accounts), third-party signatories or beneficiaries.

If you have a business account:

The following business accounts are eligible for eStatements:

  • Business Zero Transaction Account
  • Business TeleNet Saver.

Other business account types (including credit cards, term deposits, trust accounts and loan accounts) are ineligible.

The following eligibility rules also apply:

  • You must be the account owner or authorised signatory to change statement settings
  • All account owners must have an email address on file with us so we can send notifications of new statements
  • The account must not currently be receiving more than one paper statement to different mailing addresses.

Personal accounts:

When you open your account, it will automatically be registered for eStatements if it's eligible.

You can check if any of your accounts are already registered by logging in to online banking or the app and viewing your statement settings.

Business accounts:

If you’ve got an existing eligible account that was opened before 2 December 2021, we’re planning on making the switch for you soon. If you opened an eligible account after this date, don’t worry – you can still register for eStatements manually in the app or online banking.

You can check if any of your accounts are already registered by logging in to Bankwest Online Banking, Online Business Banking or the Bankwest App.

Your eStatement will be available at the same time your normal statements are usually issued. You'll also get an email to let you know when your latest eStatement is available.

It's important to make sure your email address is up to date – you can update it in the app or online banking.

We'll email you your new eStatement, but to avoid missing your minimum payment due date, it might be a good idea to set up a regular payment to your credit card each month. Find out how.

You can also set up a Bankwest Easy Alert by enabling push notifications on your phone. This will remind you when your minimum repayment's due and help avoid a late payment fee.

Remember, it's your responsibility to make at least your minimum payment (plus any "Amount Due Immediately") by the due date on your statement each month, otherwise a late payment fee may apply.

You can switch back to paper statements at any time by managing your options in the app or online banking. Don't forget, a $1.25 paper statement fee may apply per statement for personal credit cards.
