Easily generate your statements and account info

If you need documents to confirm your deposit account details or transactions for a specific timeframe, don’t worry about visiting or calling a branch – you can do it quickly and easily on the Bankwest App if you’re registered for eStatements.

What is it?

  • Proof of balance

This is a statement on a Bankwest letterhead that shows the date your account was opened and your current balance at the time you request it for transaction or savings accounts. You might be asked for one to verify your account for various applications (like Centrelink).
  • Transaction summary

Also called an interim statement, you’ll be able to generate an up-to-date transaction history straight away for your transaction or savings account. This means you don’t have to look through old statements or wait for a new quarterly one to be issued – you can generate one instantly for the time period you want (up to 90 days) from anywhere up to a year in the past.

What you can use it for

A proof of balance or transaction summary can come in handy for a number of things, like responding to government agency requests, loan applications or transaction disputes. Here’s some of the main ones:

Confirming your account info with Centrelink

If Centrelink have requested proof of your account details, you don’t need to spend time on the phone, in a queue or looking for old documents that may not meet the right needs. Download a proof of balance PDF instantly from the Bankwest App to avoid delays to your applications and payments.

Preparing your tax return

If it’s tax time and you need an up-to-date transaction listing, don’t worry about sifting through your statements. You can generate a transaction summary through the Bankwest App and filter it by the date range you need (within a 90-day date range) anywhere up to a year in the past.

Showing evidence of savings

Applying for a loan or rental and need to show your savings history? Forget waiting for a new statement – easily download a transaction summary for the account you use for saving for the time frame requested in your application (up to a 90-day date range).

Frequently asked questions

We’re here to help

Can I generate a proof of balance or transaction summary PDF for my home loan, personal loan or credit card?

No, you’ll only be able to generate them for eligible open transaction or savings accounts.

Will these be available for business transaction accounts?

No, business and small business accounts aren’t currently eligible.

Can I generate a proof of balance or transaction summary if I’m not registered for eStatements?

You need to be registered for eStatements in order to generate these documents. Registering is easy – you can do it in the app and online banking. See how.

Will this have all the right information on a letterhead? I’ve been sent back and forth before.

The proof of balance statement and the transaction summary will be rendered into a PDF on a Bankwest letterhead, and will state your full name, address and current balance. The transaction summary will contain a full list of transactions made on your account in the period you’ve selected (up to 90 days) from anywhere up to a year in the past. These documents can be used to provide up-to-date account information.

Will generating a proof of balance or transaction summary affect when I get my next regular eStatement?

No. These documents are produced in real time, separately from your regular eStatement. This means they won’t change when you’re scheduled to get your next eStatement. However, keep in mind that these documents won’t be saved with your eStatements in the Bankwest App.
