Frequently asked questions

How much do they cost?

eStatements don’t cost anything. Paper statements, on the other hand, may attract a $1.25 fee per paper statement. However, if your account isn't eligible for eStatements, we'll waive the paper statement fee.

Are all accounts eligible?

Not all accounts - the account has to be one that you can access through online banking and you must be the owner or joint owner of the account. The following accounts are not eligible for eStatements:

  • All Bankwest Business Banking accounts, including corporate and commercial credit cards
  • Term Deposit accounts
  • Passbook account
  • BWA Cash Management Trust account
  • Accounts held in trust
  • Additional cardholder of a Credit Card account
  • Account signatory (except for Children's Savings Accounts/Kids' Bonus Savers)
  • Third party signatories
  • Beneficiaries

Will I be automatically switched to eStatements?

For some accounts, we will automatically switch you over to eStatements. If this is the case, you can expect to receive more information soon, on an upcoming paper statement.

Log on to the Bankwest App or online banking to see if your accounts are already registered for eStatements.

When will my eStatement be available?

Your eStatement will be available at the same time your normal statements are usually issued. You will receive an email notifying you when your latest eStatement is available.

It's important to ensure your email address is correct. You can update your email address via Bankwest Online Banking (BOB) or the Bankwest App.

Can I get a credit card eStatement payment reminder?

Every time a new credit card eStatement is available we will send you an email to your nominated email address letting you know it’s ready for you to view.

To avoid missing your minimum payment due date, you might consider setting up a regular payment to transfer funds to your credit card each month.

You can also set up a Bankwest Easy alert to remind you when your minimum payment is due, and help avoid a late payment fee.

Remember, it’s your responsibility to make at least your minimum payment by the due date on your statement each month. A late payment fee may apply if you miss your minimum payment due date.

How long will eStatements be stored for?

Your eStatements will be available through online banking or the Bankwest App for 5 years from the date of issue.

To ensure your long-term records are in order however, we recommend you save your eStatements to your computer after viewing them.

Can I switch back to paper statements?

You can switch back to paper any time by managing your statement options in the Bankwest App or online banking. Don’t forget, a $1.25 paper statement fee may apply per statement.
