Bankwest and ABN Group, Australia’s leading construction, property and finance company, have announced a new banking relationship.
The announcement comes after ABN Group named Bankwest as the winner of the Group’s first tender process for a new banking partner in almost 40 years.
Bankwest Managing Director Rowan Munchenberg said he was delighted to be partnering with ABN Group to support the future growth of the communities of WA and Australia.
'It’s a great move for Bankwest and ABN Group as we have a shared commitment to supporting the growth and prosperity of the communities and economy of Western Australia as well as at a national level,' Mr Munchenberg said.
'Ranked Australia’s second largest residential homebuilder, ABN Group consistently delivers in excess of 3,000 new homes per annum across WA and Victoria and is a story of sustained success.'
Mr Munchenberg added further 'Bankwest has been supporting the construction industry for more than 123 years – through the good times and the tough times – and now that the WA economy is beginning to turn a corner, I believe there’s a growing sense of optimism for the future.'
'ABN Group is an institution in WA and I’m delighted they believe that the insights, knowledge, experience and deep relationships we have within the building and construction industry makes us the right partner to help them continue their growth and success into the future.'
Commenting on the announcement, ABN Group Managing Director Dale Alcock said Bankwest had won the tender following an extremely rigorous selection process which involved all the major banks.
'We’re thrilled to establish a relationship with Bankwest, who showed a deep understanding of our business today as well as our vision for the future,' Mr Alcock said.
'Bankwest has proven experience in property, construction and finance – the key markets in which ABN Group operates.'
'It’s also a great cultural fit – Bankwest is an iconic brand with a long and proud history in Western Australia as is the ABN Group, which was established in Perth in 1978 and proudly remains the State’s leading construction, property and finance company,' he added.
