How does our Graduate Program work?

All graduates start in February and the length of your program will range from one-to-two years depending which graduate program you apply for. There is a generalist Aspiring Leaders stream, as well as three other specialist streams in Business Banking, Risk Management, and Technology & Transformation.

From day one you’ll be doing real work that impacts the business and be receiving both technical and soft-skills training. You’ll have the support of a buddy and be able to make a social contribution by participating in volunteering initiatives.

When you complete the program, we will work with you to understand your career goals and determine your strengths to position you in a role that best suits you and the business.

A unique development program

In addition to a tailored learning program within your respective stream, you will be joining the entire graduate cohort for your 12 month Foundational Development Program. This program has been designed to equip you with essential foundational skills to fast track your capabilities.

The program consists of development conferences, masterclasses and opportunities to join working groups. You’ll also be a key player in the Graduate Committee, which consists of five cross-stream teams, responsible for promoting the Bankwest graduate brand, identifying and delivering further learning opportunities, organising charity and volunteering events, and ensuring a strong and social graduate cohort.

We have roles available in the open-plan Bankwest head office located in the centre of Perth.

Application process

You will apply for our Graduate Program online. If your initial application is successful, you’ll have the chance to complete some online assessments, and then possibly visit one of our Assessment Centres for a face-to-face meeting with our team.
