To save you time, here’s a checklist of what you’ll need to apply:

Identification details for new customers

If you’re brand new to Bankwest, welcome! We’ll need to confirm who you are, so pop into your nearest Bankwest store with an original of your choice of the following:

one form of primary ID with a photo (i.e. passport or driver’s license) or
two forms of primary ID without a photo (i.e. birth certificate and government benefits card) or
one form of primary ID without a photo (i.e. birth certificate or citizenship papers), plus one form of secondary ID (i.e. a utility bill)

Details for new and existing customers

Whether a new or an existing customer, you may also need to provide us with:

personal details, and where applicable, those of the other account holders (name, date of birth, address and contact details)
Tax File Number (providing your TFN stops you from paying withholding tax on this account)
for TeleNet Saver and Smart eSaver:

your Bankwest transaction account details (BSB and account number) that will be linked to your new savings account

for Online Term Deposit:
  • your linked account details (BSB and account number of a transaction account you hold with Bankwest or any other Australian financial institution)
  • if your linked account is with another financial institution, please bring a bank statement no older than 6 months
