Bankwest is pleased to announce that entries are now open for the prestigious 2015 Bankwest Art Prize.

Open to all artists across Western Australia, this year the Bankwest Art Prize will return to showcasing two dimensional works, following a successful 2014 sculpture exhibition.

The Bankwest Art Prize has gained distinction as one of the State’s most generous artistic accolades with the winner, to be announced on 20 October 2015, taking home $30,000.

Bankwest Art Curator, Sandra Murray said that Bankwest was committed to supporting the Western Australian arts community and the calibre of this prize is a testimony to the accomplished field of visual artists in our State.

“This year we are looking for pieces which are two dimensional, reflect a contemporary approach and are conceptually refined and innovative,” Ms Murray said.

“Finalists will be required to create a new work for the prize.”

The finalist’s artwork will be displayed in the Bankwest Art Gallery in Bankwest Place.

The Bankwest Art Gallery will host an exhibition showcasing all of the finalists’ artworks from 20 October 2015 to 12 February 2016. The winning piece will become part of the prestigious Bankwest Art Collection; a collection of 450 works by WA artists.
