Bankwest Redefining Bank and Broker Relationship
01 February 2011
Bankwest is embarking on a new era in commercial broker relationships with regular education sessions and a national roadshow planned for 2011.
The initiatives are part of a national push from Bankwest towards greater proactive engagement and education of brokers.
Bankwest Head of Commercial Broker Sales Aaron Milburn said broker engagement and commercial education is now more important than ever as more brokers increasingly diversify their portfolios.
"We are seeing a greater number of brokers diversify from solely residential brokerage tocommercial brokerage, and as a lender we wish to support brokers in that transition," explained Mr Milburn.
"In order to support this trend we will provide platforms for regular contact and support. This will improve our relationships, speed up deals through the system for both broker and the client and improve the quality of those deals."
Both Mr Milburn and Head of Business & Private Banking Mark Reid will embark on the national roadshow throughout February.
The purpose of this roadshow is to communicate directly with brokers on Bankwest's future strategy, and more specifically, what they can expect from the refreshed commercial broker strategy.
The commercial education sessions are an opportunity for both bank and broker to chat openly about how they can better work together. The upcoming sessions will occur fortnightly in all capital cities across the country.
"Hopefully this type of interactive environment will be the catalyst for a better relationship between bank and broker," Mr Milburn added.
Commercial brokers can become involved in the education sessions by contacting their local partnership manager. All contact details can be found at www.bankwestbrokers.com.au.
The roadshow is scheduled for February 2011 and will visit all capital cities. Brokers can become involved by again contacting their local partnership managers.
