Bankwest Contemporary Art Prize 2012 People's Choice Award

The Bankwest Contemporary Art Prize has been on display at Bankwest Place for over a month and the winner of the People’s Choice Award has been announced.
The winner is Ron Nyisztor for his artwork, Bridge to the Horse’s Head Nebula 2012 - see image of winning artwork below.
This poetic work combines photographic images, paper, paint, acrylic panel, builders’ foil and wood panels. The People’s Choice Award recognises the creator of voters’ favourite artwork with $5,000 worth of art materials. Ron is a highly regarded Fremantle based artist who won the Albany Art Award in 2011.
The 2012 Bankwest Contemporary Art Prize Exhibition is a major acquisitive prize, showcasing the best of contemporary Western Australian art. The Prize features the work of 21 Western Australian contemporary artists chosen from a competitive field of 150 applicants.
The 2012 Bankwest Contemporary Art Prize, which includes both Nyisztor’s artwork and Patrick Mung Mung’s winning work, is on show until 10 February 2013 at the Bankwest Art Gallery.
