Australia’s resilient economy has helped deliver more affordable housing for the nation’s first time buyers as wages continue to increase and property prices stagnate, according to research from Bankwest.

The fourth annual Bankwest First Time Buyer Deposit Report, the latest addition to the Bankwest Financial Indicator Series, revealed that it now takes first time buyer couples 3.8 years to save for a house deposit, which is about three months less than that recorded in 2011 (4.0 years).
