The Bankwest First Time Buyers Deposit Report 2015 reveals Australian couples will have to save for an average 4.2 years to accumulate the almost $100,000 needed for a 20 per cent house deposit on the median priced home. They’ll need to accrue an average of $99,700 - $5,900 more than in 2014.

Sydney is the toughest market for first time buyers, with couples needing to save for an average of 7.9 years in order to put down a $198,700 deposit.
