20 July 2015

More than one in three Generation Xers are financially ‘unfit’ and may struggle to ever accumulate the wealth of their Pre-Boomer and Baby Boomer elders.

According to Bankwest's Financial Fitness at Tax Time Report, Gen Xers (born between 1966 and 1980) are the generation most likely to be finding it financially tough in 2015.

The research looked at respondent's reliance on debt, their savings, insurance cover and the cost of housing relative to income.
