Lending IT know-how to Quinns Rocks primary school
21 April 2011
Like many primary schools, Quinns Rocks has been struggling with management of its IT estate. Juggling a small annual budget for 400 students plus teachers was never going to be easy.
Bankwest colleague, Alan from IT, arranged a visit to the school with our IT gurus John and Wayne to discuss IT challenges with school deputy principal Nigel Rogan. It ended up being two hours of free consultancy to help the school make better use of its IT… and also offer problem solving assistance to improve the computing experience for both staff and pupils.
The best part of the trip was being able to reconfigure the school’s CISCO switch to add four administrator ports to allow additional PC for teachers to be added on to the network. There was also a printer issue to solve and we were happy to save Quinns Rocks primary school call-out fees, which would have eaten up more than 20% of their IT budget!
It always feels good to lend a hand.
