Happily growing grassroots rugby in WA
09 August 2012
As a happy supporter of grassroots rugby in WA, Bankwest is proud to be a part of the growth of the competition.
Since 2011, the Bankwest Junior Rugby competition has grown in numbers by 10% and with over 4,000 juniors taking part across 250 teams this year, we're thrilled to be a part of this great achievement.
Throughout the season, we have given junior rugby clubs the chance to give back to their club by referring their members to a Bankwest home or business loan. Commissions received off the back of the referral will be contributed back to the club.
Last week, Bankwest Head of Business Development, Stephen Dargan and Business Development Manager, Christine Hutchins presented the Wanneroo Rugby Club with a cheque for $10,670.
Similarly, in May, we were happy to present the Cottesloe Rugby Club with a cheque for $12,000. During the season, Bankwest has donated over $32,000 to junior rugby clubs in this referral initiative and we’re looking forward to seeing these funds bring an even stronger future to the competition.
We’ve also been busy visiting local clubs over the past two weeks to present the kids with a special gift from Bankwest. Paul Burnett, Business Development Manager attended several training sessions to award each child with a boot bag and t-shirt, and just look at the smiles on their faces!
We wish the junior rugby clubs all the best for the remainder of the 2012 season and can’t wait to see what 2013 brings.
