Bankwest staff lend a helping hand
13 May 2011
Bankwest is proud to lend a hand to Riding for the Disabled Association of Western Australia (RDA WA) and our volunteers had a great day doing their bit to help out….painting the posts and railings enclosing the dressage arena.
The RDA WA is a voluntary, not for profit organisation that does a fantastic job developing the abilities and enriching the lives of people living with disabilities. It provides some incredibly beneficial and much-needed therapeutic and recreational horse activities.
Recently, Bankwest’s property team set out to help the local Carine RDA with some maintenance and up keep of the arena. We had 20 volunteers on the day contributing 70 hours to the benefit of around 100-130 disabled riders who utilise RDA’s facilities each week.
The painting is a task that would otherwise take a significant amount of time and resources for volunteers so we were thrilled we could make a difference. Bankwest had the arena looking bright and sparkly new again by day’s end! A highlight of the day was the chance to see riding lessons, as well as seeing how a fresh coat of paint really uplifted the whole area…lovely!
