Bankwest spin some cash for diabetes research
14 April 2011
With more than 122,000 Australians living with Type 1 Diabetes, our super-fit friends in Bankwest put their leg muscles to good use on March 25 for the Spin for a Cure event in Central Park.
The team – Yvonne, Julia , Chris , Joshua and Dan – did an amazing job helping raise money for research into Type 1 Diabetes.
The autoimmune disease is not caused by lifestyle or diet and is incurable. People living with Type 1 Diabetes need up to six insulin injections every day just to stay alive, as well as multiple finger prick blood sugar tests. The disease can also cause blindness, heart disease and kidney failure.
Money raised on the day will help fund vital research.
