Bankwest adds apparel to rugby partnership
14 March 2011
Rugby fans are known for their powers of observation…and WA fans of Emirates Western Force will no doubt be among the first to notice the players running around with a new logo on their strip.
Bankwest has stepped up its commitment to the great game with a new apparel deal that gives our logo pretty impressive prominence on the team’s shorts.
It’s all part of a new three year agreement which will extend Bankwest’s imprint on the game in WA. Bankwest is already an Official Partner of Grassroots Rugby and naming rights partner of the Bankwest Rugby WA Academy; providing a pathway for talented young players to achieve their dreams.
RugbyWA expanded its community engagement programmes in 2010, which has seen more than 10,000 kids take part in rugby education and development across W.A – and it’s set to continue throughout 2011.
In fact, the number of West Australians catching the ‘rugby bug’ has rapidly increased since the arrival of the Emirates Western Force six years ago; with double the number of players taking an active part in the game. Bankwest wants to help the upward trend continue by providing a free pair of shorts for every junior registered player….along with goal post pads and corner flags for main rugby fields across Perth.
RugbyWA CEO Vern Reid is mighty chuffed to see the growing support of the game in WA.
“RugbyWA’s activities are passionately executed locally while our unique brand is well recognised and growing both nationally and internationally. It’s a position that fits well with an organisation like Bankwest and we’re delighted to have them further commit their investment in rugby,” said Mr Reid.
“Take their commitment to supply each WA junior player with a pair of playing shorts, not only does it help keep the costs down for families but also enables the kids to feel that connection with the elite players who’ll also have the Bankwest logo proudly displayed on the front of their shorts.
