Code of Banking Practice

The Code sets out the banking industry's key commitments and obligations to customers on standards of practice, disclosure and principles of conduct.

The Code of Banking Practice was first introduced in 1993. Revised versions of the Code were developed in consultation with subscribing banks and consumer and business groups in 2002, 2004 and most recently in January 2013.

Under clause 40 of the Code, Bankwest has produced some guidelines to provide customers with information relating to how Bankwest will deal with applications relating to transfers of mortgages and titles, and otherwise enforce debts affected by Family Law property settlements.
