Make the switch to Bankwest

Welcome!

So, you have decided to make the switch to Bankwest. We know that switching banks is not easy and it can be tiring contacting all your service providers and creditors to update your banking details. Here at Bankwest, we want to make the switching process as easy and painless as possible.

That’s why we have made these switching tools available to help you out. All you need to do is to decide if you wish to do this yourself, or let Bankwest assist you to notify your service providers or creditors.

To use these tools, you will need to have a transaction account set up with Bankwest. If you have already set up a Bankwest transaction account, you've already taken the first steps to a Happy Banking experience. If not, you can applyapply for one now.

Be aware that you cannot switch recurring/periodical payments or any other payments by using these tools, only direct debits and direct credits. To switch periodical payments, please call us on 13 17 18

 What you need

It’s a good idea to have the details you’ll need on hand before you begin the process as you will not be able to save your progress. This tool will timeout after a period of inactivity
Ensure you have the BSB and account number of both your Bankwest and former transaction account. You cannot switch periodical payments or any other payments by using this tool. To do so, please call us on 13 17 18
Ensure you have your Direct Debit / Direct Credit List to be able to copy the details from. This can be obtained by contacting your former financial institution. Click here to view an example of this DR/CR List.
If your Bankwest account is a joint account, both account holders will need to sign the form(s) for it to be processed.
Doing It Yourself Option
This option is available if you wish to notify your service providers and/or creditors of your change of banking details yourself. You will need to complete all the details in the tool, print the letters and/or faxes, sign and then send them to the providers for them to action.

The letters and faxes generated with this option are different from the ‘Switch of Financial Institution and Account Details’ form generated by the ‘Getting Help to Make the Switch’ option below.
