Bankwest today announced it would not charge its customers any ATM fees when they use another operator's ATM.
This is the result of a comprehensive review as part of a Reserve Bank of Australia initiative to increase ATM fee transparency.
Bankwest Head of Retail Strategy and Products Selina Duncalf said Bankwest would not charge its customers anything when they use another operator's cash machine - so called "Foreign ATMs".
"Bankwest is committed to remaining highly competitive across all areas of our business, and that includes ATM fees," Ms Duncalf said.
"Our customers will not be charged by Bankwest when they use another operator's ATM, including Commonwealth Bank of Australia machines.
"We look forward to continuing to offer Australians a greater choice in banking."
Bankwest customers will not be charged "disloyalty fees" for using "Foreign ATMs", although they could still be charged a "Direct Charge" by other ATM operators if they used non-Bankwest and non-CBA machines.
