BankWest: Nick's happy to be going to the Beijing Olympics

30 June 2008

Nick Nardo of Greystanes NSW was announced the winner of the BankWest 'What Makes You Happy Olympic Trivia Competition' and will be going to the Beijing Olympic Games courtesy of BankWest.

Mr Nardo won the competition and the prize includes:

  • 2 return adult economy flights to Beijing from Sydney
  • 3 night's accommodation at Beijing's 4 star Landmark Hotel
  • 2 day excursions
  • Tickets to swimming finals, diving finals and a basketball event

The total prize is worth up to $25,000.

Mr Nardo said the day had been surreal and he planned on taking his 76 year old father with him, pending doctor's approval.

"It's fantastic to win this and it's something you dream of.  I've never won a chook raffle and now I've won a trip to Beijing and the Olympic Games," he said.

The BankWest competition was won by listening to 2GB and being the first correct caller to answer a question that was asked on the Alan Jones breakfast show.

BankWest Retail Chief Executive Ian Corfield said BankWest was proud to be a Partner of the Australian Olympic Team for the Beijing Summer Olympic Games in August, the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games and the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games and provide this opportunity to someone.

"The Beijing Olympic Games are almost upon us and BankWest is very happy to offer this amazing package to one lucky listener of 2GB and we congratulate Nick," he said.

BankWest is also the Presenting Partner of the official 2008 Welcome Home Celebrations following the conclusion of the Olympic Games.
