Experienced finance broker Stephen Brown is returning to finance as a Business Development Manager for BankWest Rural and Regional

27 August 2007

Experienced finance broker Stephen Brown is returning to finance as a Business Development Manager for BankWest Rural and Regional.

Stephen has more than 33 years experience in the finance industry including as a finance broker and agricultural machinery importer.

He grew up in Narrogin and was previously General Manager of Ag Equipment Australia, distributor for JCB Agricultural products, Ezee-on Tillage and Deutz Tractors, with a network of over 50 dealers and a staff of 13 across Australia.

His role as a finance broker saw him establish the finance broking arm of The Dominion Group Finance Broking business and merge with another finance broking business to establish Agri Finance (Australia) Pty Ltd, Western Australia's largest and only specialist rural finance brokerage company.

Stephen will undertake a mobile banking role and will service most of Western Australia from Kalbarri to Israelite Bay.

BankWest Rural and Regional State Manager Jim Watson said Stephen's role will complement BankWest's Rural and Regional staff already in these areas.

"Stephen's unique background in finance broking and agricultural machinery means he brings a solid set of skills to agribusiness and rural and regional lending at BankWest," he said.

"This year has been difficult for many areas however it is during these times that it is important for businesses and individuals have their finances structured adequately."

Stephen said he was pleased to be taking on such an encompassing role and looked forward to meeting many of the locals.

"Although my role is essentially a Business Development role, I am also able to help customers with broader banking products including home loans, personal loans and credit cards," he said.

"It's an extremely competitive market in banking at the moment, but this is great news for the customer and businesses as it means better products, better rates and better service."

Jim Watson said BankWest remained committed to rural and regional Western Australia and had continuing growth plans in the region.

"Western Australia is still the home of BankWest and our local customers are a valued part of our business."

Stephen can be contacted on 0428 281 013 or Stephen.Brown@bankwest.com.au
