IQPC MORTGAGE PROCESSING AWARDS: BANKWEST WINS BEST USE OF TECHNOLOGY
- BankWest winner Best Use of Technology and Automation to Improve Turn Around Times
- Honourable mention for Best Demonstration of Customer Satisfaction
BankWest, part of the HBOS Australia group of companies, has claimed two awards in the 2007 IQPC Mortgage Processing Awards.
BankWest won the Best Use of Technology and Automation to Improve Turn Around Times from origination to settlement and also received an honourable mention for Best Demonstration of Customer Satisfaction.
Acting Chief Executive Retail Selina Duncalf said the win reflected the enormous improvements BankWest had made over the last two years implementing its Common Processing System (CPS).
"This system is the best in Australia and leverages the experience of our parent company HBOS plc in the UK to reduce turn around times for customers," she said.
"It is fantastic to win this award because utilising information technology is a key part of our strategy to enable growth and ensure we can keep up with demand."
CPS is a core banking system that incorporates scanning, imaging, workflow management, diary systems and advanced management information in the same system.
The IQPC Mortgage Processing Excellence Awards is a national event that reflects developments in the mortgage industry, focusing on processing efficiency and STP (Straight Through Processing).
BankWest was selected for the award by a judging panel headed up by the Head of Mortgages from Macquarie Bank and beat a group of finalists that included ING and St George.
Ms Duncalf said BankWest would continue to grow its business by injecting more competition into the Australian banking environment with products and services that offer customers a better deal.
