While the majority of brokers look to the residential mortgage market for opportunities, business broking opportunities are opening up with the launch of a new BankWest business broking model.
BankWest has always had a strong relationship with the residential mortgage brokering market and now offers a unique proposition to the business and commercial broking market through the launch of its new business broking model.
The unique service proposition will see a dedicated BankWest Business Development Manager (BDM) work with business brokers while they write up loan documents.
Head of Business Banking, Julie Rynski said the new model will give business brokers easier access to BankWest and take the heat out of the deal from the broker's point of view.
"This model calls for a much closer relationship between business brokers and BankWest. It makes the entire end-to-end lending application process much easier," Ms Rynski said.
"We've learnt that the introducer wants a direct point of contact in the bank, someone who understands the nature of their loan and can give them an answer immediately."
"Instead of liaising with a number of BankWest staff, the broker only deals with their dedicated Business Development Manager. If there are any problems the BDM will sort them out," she said.
The BankWest Broker Partnership Manager will still play a key role in supporting the broker channel and will work with advisers to increase growth of new business.
Julie Rynski said the changes will introduce further strengthen the good relationship between BankWest and the broker industry.
"We have always been focused on introducing greater competition into the broker market and providing customers with better business banking alternatives," Ms Rynski said.
"This model offers brokers and aggregators a higher level of service in addition to day-to-day support," she said.
"Through this model and our growth strategy, BankWest aims to become a major force within the Broker Industry - both in mortgages and business," Ms Rynski said.
BankWest requires all business and commercial brokers to be accredited and can help arrange this. For more information about business broking please call 02 8299 8210.
